Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use Fireside. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
In this Privacy Policy, "Fireside," "Fireside Reacts," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Fireside Reacts, including the Fireside website at firesidereacts.com and the Fireside browser extension (together, the "Service"). "You" refers to the person using the Service.
Information we collect
- Information you provide. If you create an account or contact us, you may provide information such as your email address and any messages you send us.
- Information from your use of the Service. This includes content you submit, such as reactions, along with a non-identifying identifier we assign to your installation so the Service works across sessions. Usage information may include interactions with the Service, such as reactions submitted, features used, settings preferences, and other activity necessary to operate and improve Fireside.
Information we do not collect
Fireside does not collect:
- Your streaming service passwords
- Payment card numbers
- Private messages from streaming services
- Personal files or documents
- Information from websites unrelated to Fireside functionality
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to measure feature adoption and monitor performance. Analytics events are sent from the Fireside extension using Google's Measurement Protocol and are associated with a random, non-identifying client identifier stored locally in your browser's extension storage, never with your name, email, or account. The events record which features are used (such as reactions sent, themes changed, or a checkout being started), not the content you watch. We do not send your email, the titles of what you watch, or the URLs you visit. Google may infer coarse, approximate location (such as country) from the network connection.
The extension's analytics do not use cookies, and Fireside does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Information collected through Google Analytics is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Browser permissions
Fireside requires access to supported websites in order to display reactions and associate reactions with the content being viewed. Fireside only accesses information necessary to provide its functionality and does not monitor your activity on unrelated websites.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- To enable shared reactions and keep your activity associated with you across sessions.
- To create and manage accounts and process purchases.
- To understand and improve how the Service is used.
- To communicate with you, including responding to support requests.
- To protect the Service and comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in limited circumstances:
- With other users. Reactions you post are shared with others viewing the same content as part of the core experience. They are associated with a non-identifying ID, not your name or email.
- With service providers. We use trusted third parties to help us operate the Service, for example, hosting, authentication, analytics, and payment processing. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
- In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Payments
Purchases of premium features are handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We retain records of purchases to provide access, support, and refunds, and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. We periodically remove inactive anonymous data that is no longer needed. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time (see "Your choices").
Your choices
- You can use Fireside without creating an account.
- Analytics events are anonymous and tied only to a random identifier, never your account. Uninstalling the extension stops all analytics collection.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at firesidereacts@gmail.com.
Security
We take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information you provide to us.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Fireside is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
